The Republican freakout over Donald Trump is now hitting critical mass.

So the other day Senator Mark Kirk became the first Republican leader to take back his endorsement of Donald Trump.

Since then the calls for Republicans to "Dump Trump" or unendorse him have escalated exponentially.

Lindsay Graham for one wants those who have endorsed Donald Trump to take it all back

Graham wants fellow Republicans who have endorsed Donald Trump to take it all back in the wake of his repeated claims that Judge Gonzalo Curiel's heritage make him unfit to preside over lawsuits against him.

“This is the most un-American thing from a politician since Joe McCarthy,” Graham told The New York Times. “If anybody was looking for an off-ramp, this is probably it,” he added. “There’ll come a time when the love of country will trump hatred of Hillary.”

Conservative radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt was even more pointed:

Conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt said on Wednesday that the Republican National Committee should ask Donald Trump to withdraw his candidacy or change the convention rules to prevent his formal nomination.

“The Republican National Committee needs to step in and step up and talk to him about getting out of the race,” Hewitt said on the Hugh Hewitt Show.

The alternative, he said, is a guaranteed victory for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton — and the loss of Republican control of both houses of Congress.

“She’s gonna be president unless Republicans change their nominee,” Hewitt said. “When the dust clears we will have lost the House, we will have lost the Senate, we will have lost governorships.”

Things actually got so bad that Paul Ryan went into hiding.
Damn!

So what do you think?

Can the Republicans kick Trump to the curb before the convention? Or will there be a contested convention? Or will the Republicans just say "No mas," throw up their hands and simply sit this one out and let Hillary have it for the sake of the country.

And if any of that happens what will Donald Trump do in response?

Flip the Republicans the bird, say fuck it to the whole thing, and go back to his lavish lifetyle?

Run as a third party candidate out of spite?

Or perhaps stubbornly fight for the right to stay the GOP and then lose spectacularly in November?

You know I literally do not know which one of those I want to see more.
