"Excuse me I can't come to your debate, that's the night I'm doing my hair." |
Dan Hayes, the general manager of the Salt Palace Convention Center, which was scheduled to host the debate, said he had "received verbal statements from Fox News" that the debate would no longer be taking place.
Two Fox News sources familiar with the decision confirmed the debate had been canceled.
The cancellation comes after Trump said on Fox News a few hours earlier that he would not attend the debate, leading John Kasich to pull out as well. Ted Cruz said he was willing to debate either Trump or Kasich, or both.
"Obviously, there needs to be more than one participant," Michael Clemente, the Fox News executive overseeing the debate, said in a statement. "So the Salt Lake City debate is canceled."
I don't know perhaps Fox should let Ted Cruz have a debate with himself.
After all two hours of Ted Cruz talking about himself and leaving a trail of slime wherever he steps on the debate stage might be enough to turn off every GOP voter in the country and effectively end his campaign in one night.
I think at this point it is pretty clear that the nomination is Donald Trump's.
After all if he he can refuse to attend a debate and get that debate cancelled I think that demonstrates his domination over this so-called opponents.
Does anybody really think they would have cancelled it if Kasich or Cruz had been the ones to skip it?
Besides that Trump is also threatening riots if he does not get the nomination:
Trump warned Wednesday morning that there would be widespread unrest if he does not "automatically" get the nomination as the candidate with the greatest number of delegates.
"I think you would have riots," Trump said during an interview with CNN, adding that he represents "many, many millions of people," including several first-time voters.
Angry conservative voters rioting in the streets. I give up, I am never going to be able to buy enough popcorn for this election cycle.
