Courtesy of Raw Story:
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin campaigned for former Judge Roy Moore at a wall-less barn in Alabama Thursday evening.
“Judge Roy Moore was deplorable before it was cool to be deplorable!” Palin said of the insurgent Republican who was twice suspended as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
“I don’t think there’s a cooler nickname than ‘The 10 Commandments Judge,'” Palin noted, referencing the 2003 controversy that resulted in Moore being removed from office by the Alabama Court of the Judiciary. Moore was suspended as Chief Judge in 2016 and resigned in April while announcing he would be running in the special election.
“We voted for a big beautiful wall and not more amnesty deals,” Palin said.
And then there was this tortured logic.
“A vote for Judge Moore isn’t a vote against the president,” Palin claimed. “It is a vote for the people’s agenda that elected the president.”
That is kind of a hard case to make with Trump scheduled to come to Alabama on Saturday and stump for Moore's opponent Luther Strange.
My favorite part of this speech, and trust me it had no competition, was when Palin claimed that she "put her reputation on the line" to endorse Trump and support his policies.
Please, this woman, with help from her family, destroyed any positive reputation she may have had LONG ago.
It appears during this speech that Palin's argument is that Donald Trump has essentially been rendered impotent by "the swamp" and that the only way to preserve his vision is to go around him and elect candidates which he will not support in order to force him back into line.
That is a rather amazing development, as it seems the people who were the most energized by Trump's craziest campaign promises are simply incapable of believing they were played for fools or that after becoming president Trump learned that those things were impossible or ultimately hurtful to the country.
I think this is a glimpse into the insanity that Sarah Palin would have brought to the White House if by some batshit crazy miracle SHE had been elected president.
There's a thought to inspire nightmares.
