Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he would like to meet US President Donald Trump at an Arctic nations summit in Finland in May.
He again rejected allegations that Russia had interfered in the 2016 US presidential election.
And he said sanctions against Russia were also hurting the US and Europe.
Mr Trump had voiced hopes for improved relations with Moscow, but he has been dogged by claims of links between his election campaign and Russia.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and both houses of the US Congress are investigating alleged Russian interference in the election.
I would suggest that Putin is really looking forward to getting a one on one with his puppet, because with the FBI and other intelligence agencies watching his every move that is the only way he can communicate what he wants from him shielded from prying eyes.
Or so he assumes.
However if I were working with the intelligence agencies I would be damn sure to be monitoring every move that Trump and Putin made while working on their bromance in Finland.
Now the question to ask is whether Donald Trump is dumb enough to meet Putin in person with this investigation still going on, and or better yet, is Putin giving him any choice?
