Sarah Palin wants to throw 49ers quarterback out of the country for refusing to stand during national anthem. You know, because FREEDOM!

For those who have not been following this closely:

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has willingly immersed himself into controversy by refusing to stand for the playing of the national anthem in protest of what he deems are wrongdoings against African Americans and minorities in the United States.

His latest refusal to stand for the anthem -- he has done this in at least one other preseason game -- came before the 49ers' preseason loss to Green Bay at Levi's Stadium on Friday night.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

That of course caused all kinds of folks to freak out, especially those on the Right Wing, when it first happened several days ago.

However Sarah Palin, who as we know has recently been taking blows to the head, was a little late to jump on the ole bandwagon.

But here she comes to pile on as well:

America - let's sack this ungrateful punk. Kaepernick - yeah, you're really "down with the oppressed" in this nation. Enjoying your $114 million contract, your previous adoring fans, sucking up a life of luxury... GOD AND COUNTRY GAVE YOU THIS OPPORTUNITY. You can't acknowledge that? Then on behalf of every Vet I'm privileged to know: GET THE HELL OUT.

- Sarah Palin

Gee what a nice measured response, if you were SATAN!

It's almost as if Palin thinks that freedom only pertains to gun ownership and not freedom of expression.

Interestingly enough her new son-in-law provided a far more reasonable response:

If that’s what he feels he wants to do with his fame and his platform, that’s his choice.

But Colin Kaepernick needs to remember that a lot of men and women bled for that flag he refuses to stand for.

A lot of those men and women were African-Americans who fought, bled, and died on behalf of that flag and those freedoms.

That flag stands for freedom and has nothing to do with the issue he is trying to portray. But, if he feels this is something he has to do, he should rock on. Because that’s what freedom is all about.

Okay well Dakota got his little conservative dig in there about blood spilled for our freedoms, but in the end he still recognized Kapernick's right to exercise his first amendment protected free speech in that manner.

And compared to Palin's rabid screed it sounds almost Gandhi-like.

I am actually beginning to wonder if she is not on the verge of yet another psychotic break.
