A new CNN/ORC poll released Monday gives Hillary Clinton a 9-point lead over Donald Trump, suggesting the Democratic presidential nominee won a significant bump from last week’s Democratic National Convention.
Clinton is ahead by a margin of 52 percent to 43 percent in a head-to-head match-up, a 7-point bump from CNN/ORC’s last poll.
When the Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson and the Green Party’s Jill Stein are added in, Clinton leads Trump, the GOP nominee, 45 percent to 37 percent.
There is even more bad news for Trump:
A Gallup poll released on Monday provided some ominous signs for Donald Trump.
The poll found that 51% of the 1,000 adults surveyed said that they were less likely to vote for Trump following the Republican National Convention.
Only 36% said that they were more likely to vote for the New York businessman after he was officially named the GOP nominee.
Monday's poll was the first instance, since Gallup began tracking Republican and Democratic conventions in 1984, that voters were less likely to vote for the party nominee in the immediate aftermath of his or her convention.
Which indicates that the more voters see of Donald Trump the less likely they are to vote for him.
That does not exactly bode well for him concerning the upcoming debates against Hillary.
Which is the likely explanation for why he seems to be trying to get out of them.
Of course none of this can be Trump's fault so in response to this bad news he has started firing staff.
Jesus, I knew this was going to be a slaughter but I guess I didn't realize how bloody it was going to get.
