Look what you helped do to the country. |
For the first time since 1984, Arizona Sen. John McCain won’t be speaking at the Republican National Convention, according to reports.
That's because he won't be there, according to the Hill. A former GOP presidential candidate, sitting senator and go-to guy for the talking-heads news shows?
You have to wonder: Is it Donald Trump or McCain’s Democratic challenger Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick who has Arizona’s one-time maverick senator running scared?
McCain told the Hill he’d be focusing on his race against Kirkpatrick – and he’d better. Polls show them in a dead heat.
There’s also the Aug. 30 GOP primary, when Arizona mastodons who feel McCain is insufficiently conservative will try to replace him.
Apparently the McCain is just one of the many vulnerable Republicans being warned to stay away from the convention.
Kind of ironic isn't it? Here is a man who was once considered essentially bullet proof now running scared because the woman that he plucked out of the wilds of Wasilla has helped to usher in the utter destruction of his political party.
Let's face it, if there were never a Sarah Palin, Donald Trump would not now be leading in the fight for the GOP nomination.
How is THAT for a legacy?
