- Hendricks’ opponent Tyron Woodley will now receive the next welterweight title shot
- THE hotly-anticipated welterweight co-main event at UFC 192 is OFF.
The news was broken by UFC president Dana White via his Twitter account, stating that Hendricks was out of his contest with Tyron Woodley due to a ‘weight-cutting issue’.

It later transpired that Hendricks suffered complications during his weight cut on Thursday and was admitted to the emergency room with a blocked intestine and a kidney stone, forcing him out of the contest.

As a result, Woodley - who intends to continue to make weight and take to the scale at tonight’s weigh-ins in Houston - has been told that he will get the next shot at the UFC welterweight title following the upcoming title fight between champion Robbie Lawler and challenger Carlos Condit in January.
“I’m disappointed,” Woodley told FOX Sports in Houston.
“Johny Hendricks not making weight was a loss for him and a victory for me. He was not prepared to fight, I was. I had already made weight and was ready to fight.
“This is not the first time he has had trouble making weight, but it is part of being a professional.”
As a result, the light-heavyweight bout between Ryan Bader and Rashad Evans has been moved into the co-main event slot, with the flyweight bout between Joseph Benavidez and Ali Bagautinov promoted to the main card.
