It was one thing for Adrian Peterson to meet with his coach and the General Manager.
Adrian Peterson flew to New York to meet with Vikings owners |
But things are getting serious now, as the Vikings running back has taken his case to the boss as Profootballtalk wrote.
He had previously met with G.M. Rick Spielman and coach Mike Zimmer, and Spielman was apparently in yesterday’s meeting as well.
The contents of the discussion aren’t known, but the fact that Peterson has gone straight to the top is at least a signal that some degree of resolution is near in his case, whether he remains with the Vikings or not.
With LeSean McCoy and Marshawn Lynch ringing the bell, Peterson would likely draw quite a market if he were released. The Vikings don’t seem inclined to do that, and trading him would seem to be their preference.
That can’t happen until 4:01 p.m. today, so the timing of the meeting doesn’t seem to be a coincidence.
